Proper lane etiquette ensures smooth games, respects fellow bowlers, and enhances enjoyment for everyone at the alley. Following these basics keeps the focus on fun and competition without disruptions.

Dress and Area Rules
Always wear bowling shoes in the bowler's area to protect lanes from street shoe damage. Avoid eating, drinking, or using phones on or near the approach to prevent spills and distractions.

Timing Your Turn
Wait for bowlers on adjacent lanes (one lane left and right in casual play) to finish their approach before stepping up. Be ready with your ball cleaned; the first on the approach bowls first, or defer to the right if tied.

Approach Discipline
Stay off the approach until ready, never linger or stand there chatting, and clear it quickly after your shot. Do not bowl while the sweep bar lowers or pins reset, and keep reactions on your lane only.

Lane and Equipment Respect
Use only your lane unless crossing completely out of the bowler's area, and handle balls gently without dropping or throwing hard. In leagues, observe local courtesy levels like two-lane waits for competitive play.

General Courtesy Tips
Silence distractions during others' shots, offer high-fives for sportsmanship, and politely remind them if someone misses their turn. Track your etiquette adherence in SpareTime Bowling to build better habits and higher scores.
