The upcoming winter bowling league season is set to begin NOW. Offering a fresh, competitive, and social way to beat the upcoming colder months outside, on the lanes. Whether new to team competition or a league veteran, now is the perfect time to sign up, form a squad, and join the excitement of weekly bowling action.
Most fall leagues start after the Labor Day holiday, with common opening dates in early September. Registration for both youth and adult leagues is open NOW in many centers, with deadlines here. Teams are generally structured as four or five bowlers, often with split-season schedules and weekly matches. Skill levels are equalized with a handicap system, which gives a 90% difference between bowlers' averages. Those on the competitive side may be in search of scratch leagues, which have no handicap, and it's bowler versus bowler.
Every year, same time each year, the excitement builds for a long 32 - 34 week league season. Check your local bowling centers for all the leagues available from seniors, youth, scratch, trio, etc.; however, always remember to have fun and meet new people.
