2026 PWBA Northern Colorado Open
The 2026 PWBA Northern Colorado Open brought elite women’s bowling to Highland Park Lanes in Greeley, Colorado, from May 7-9, and the event finished with Singapore’s New Hui Fen on top as the champion. New earned the No. 1 seed after 24 games of qualifying and then closed out the tournament with a strong championship-round performance against Stephanie Zavala.

The title match was decided by a 228-202 final, with New striking early and often to build separation. Zavala stayed clean for most of the match but was hurt by an untimely split in the seventh frame, which made the comeback too difficult to complete.

New’s win was especially notable because it came one week after she fell in the title match at the PWBA Bowlers Journal Rockford Open. This time, she converted that near miss into a victory and extended her strong run on tour with her sixth career PWBA title.

The event also highlighted how deep the PWBA field remains in 2026. Zavala advanced through the stepladder with wins over Nora Johansson, Shannon Pluhowsky, and Jordan Snodgrass before meeting New in the final. Johansson finished fifth, Pluhowsky took fourth, and Snodgrass placed third.

New’s victory added to her growing list of accomplishments, including PWBA Player of the Year honors in 2025. It also showed how preparation, confidence, and mental discipline continue to set the best players on tour apart. With the USBC Queens next on the schedule, her Northern Colorado win gave her strong momentum heading into the season’s first major.
