Spartan Recreation Bowling Center
The bowling venue associated with Spartan Recreation is the Bowling & Billiards Center inside San José State University’s Diaz Compean Student Union, at 211 South 9th Street, San José, CA 95112. It is separate from the Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center (SRAC), which is the fitness-and-aquatics facility at 324 Paseo de San Carlos. 

The Bowling & Billiards Center has 14 updated bowling lanes, computerized scoring and ball returns, nine billiard tables, lounge space, and an arcade area. It is designed as a student social space but allows casual walk-in play; no reservation is needed for normal bowling, while groups can submit a reservation request. 

For the Spring 2026 academic term, hours are 8 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday, and noon–11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The center’s published rates are $3.25 per game plus $2.50 for shoes for students, while faculty, staff, and alumni pay $6 per game, rising to $7 after 5 p.m. Friday–Sunday, plus $3 for shoes. Public/community eligibility and pricing may be more limited, so verify before arriving.
