Surf Lanes Bowling Center & Grill is a 16-lane bowling facility at Building 10366, Community Loop, Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA 93437, next to the BX. It offers open bowling, leagues, a pro shop, an arcade, wireless internet, birthday-party options, and Surf Lanes Grill for casual food and drinks. 

The venue also runs Thunder Alley on Saturday nights, featuring black lights, music-on-demand, and fog effects. Wednesday evening promotions have included Family Night and Airmen’s Night, though current special pricing should be verified directly because programs can change. 

Surf Lanes has recurring league play that can limit open bowling: common league periods include Monday evening, Tuesday morning and evening, Wednesday morning/afternoon/evening, Thursday evening, Friday evening, and Sunday afternoon. Calling ahead is particularly important if you want several lanes or plan to bowl in the evening. 

Current posted bowling-center hours are closed Monday; 11 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday; 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Friday; 1–8 p.m. Saturday; and 12:30–3 p.m. Sunday. It is an on-base facility open to active-duty military, retirees, reservists, DoD civilians, retired civilians, and eligible family members; prospective visitors must meet Vandenberg installation-entry requirements.
